Imagine One Technology & Management has been awarded a $19.3 million contract from Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) for the Naval Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) program. Imagine One will provide an intelligent data mining agent and smart decision support process to the CANES program, Navy shipboard networking experts will embed this support capability in a next-generation shipboard tactical communications system.

Future installations of the CANES shipboard tactical network will support officials in San Diego. Imagine One will provide the Navy with intelligent technology and support to supply the CANES program with dynamic planning, re-planning and automation of test procedures as part of the contract.

CANES will help to consolidate and modernize shipboard network systems to improve operational effectiveness and affordability across the fleet. CANES delivers capabilities within one system, bringing infrastructure that will enable timely and interoperable information exchange among tactical, support, and administrative users, applications, and computer systems.

The program also represents a critical component of the Navy's modernization planning by upgrading cyber security, command and control, communications, and intelligence systems afloat. CANES operational testing began last August aboard the guided missile destroyer USS Higgins (DDG 76). Full CANES deployment and operational capability is expected as early as this summer. CANES ultimately will be deployed on 180 ships, submarines, and land sites by 2022.

Nancie Lumpkins, President/CEO for Imagine One, is excited by the recent contract win, stating: “Southeast Region Artificial Intelligence (AI) engineers have developed an AI framework that can take legacy C5ISR programs into the future. In the same way that smart phones and tablets have become the norm, we will see this technology become pervasive in our national warfighting systems”.

On this contract, Imagine One work will be in San Diego until February 2020. For more information on the CANES SPAWAR program, visit: http://www.public.navy.mil/spawar/. Imagine One Technology & Management, Ltd. Maturity Level 3 Reappraisal Success

E-mail Print PDF

Imagine One Technology & Management, Ltd. is pleased to announce that the Software Development Group has been appraised at Maturity Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)®. This appraisal focused on the Organizational Set of Standard Processes (OSSP), Process Improvement Program (PIP), Training Program, Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Intelligent Information Exploitation Engine (I2E2) project, SBIR Intelligent Decision Making Technology Development (IDMTD) project, and the project to remodel the Shirlington office.

Under the guidance of Leigh Riley (Acme Process Group, CMMI Institute Certified Lead Appraiser), the appraisal team reviewed the artifacts from the PIP, Training Program, and projects mentioned above to determine if they met the CMMI Level 3 development requirements for organizational, project management, and technical process areas. Imagine One reached Maturity Level 3 for the first time in December 2011. The CMMI Institute requires organizations to maintain their appraisals every three years to ensure process improvement is ongoing. The appraisal shows that the PIP continues to improve the OSSP for future projects. The next appraisal will take place in 2017.

CMMI® is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. An appraisal at Maturity Level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for Maturity Level 3, is established and improved over time.

Special thank you to all the members involved with helping with the project; it was a large effort and outstanding accomplishment.
