Imagine One Technology & Management, Ltd. Performs Navy Logbook Audit
T-34Imagine One Technology and Management, Ltd. has reached the halfway mark on a detailed logbook audit of all Sikorsky Support Services Inc. (SSSI) aircraft maintained under the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) contract for the T-34 and T-44 aircraft located in Pensacola, FL and Corpus Christi, TX. The teaming arrangement between SSSI and Imagine One was established to provide a rapid independent assessment of the log books’ compliance and accuracy.

For the past 30 years, all maintenance of CNATRA (Chief of Naval Air Training Command) aircraft assets has been performed by CLS firms within the DoD industry. The size of the aircraft inventory eclipses that of many traditional Navy squadrons by a ratio of more than ten to one. These aircraft serve as the primary and intermediate stage training assets for student pilots and Naval Flight Officers. SSSI is required to perform all maintenance efforts to ensure enough aircraft are ready for training student pilots on a daily basis as required by flight operations.

Upon entering Navy service, each aircraft, along with its associate engine and propeller, has a logbook in which flight hours are recorded for various components as well as inspections and required maintenance actions. The experienced Imagine One team started from the beginning of each logbook to ensure all required maintenance actions have been performed as required and technical directives are up to date and in compliance. Former senior Navy personnel Suzie Moyer, Jim Morrison, Vince Phillips and Rob Johnson make up Imagine One’s specialized team.

The audit is a major undertaking. On average each logbook audit takes over eight hours to complete. There are over 300 log books to review. The Imagine One Team has not only conducted a professional review and analysis of the logs but have additionally provided recommendations to SSSI to improve efficiency and effectiveness in managing the logbooks and required entries.

Terry Carroll, Assistant Program Manager for Logistics in PMA 273 noted “This has been a remarkable effort by a small business completing the review of over 150 logbooks in just a two-month period.” With 150+ books reviewed out of over 300, the team has completed an interim progress report for the Pensacola, FL site, and will proceed to Corpus Christi, TX next month to complete the project.
